essentially, a very inefficient route from one point — a beginning — to another — an end. Its single winding path completely fills the outline of a given shape, and the labyrinth walker must cover every inch of the shape’s surface before reaching the final goal. The form forces one to move slowly and with precision, and to ignore the temptation to take a more direct route. This is the opposite of how we usually move through cities, where we allow our phones to guide us blindly on the most efficient route possible. This labyrinth, designed in the shape of a map of Minneapolis, was installed on the floor of the Law Warschaw Gallery at Macalester College, on the occasion of the exhibition Collective Impact. https://larsenhusby.com/8-Places-Case-x-Case Wed, 15 Jul 2020 21:20:10 +0000 Larsen Husby https://larsenhusby.com/8-Places-Case-x-Case 8 Places You Are Right Now (Case x Case) Digital print on paper 2019 30” x 19.5”8 Places You Are Right Now is a recurring installation which shifts form with each iteration. This iteration was created for Case x Case, a micro-gallery space in the foyer of the Art & Exhibition Hall at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
